Through the Ulster Bank Community Impact Award
GEMS NI has received a grant of £25,000 from Community Foundation NI/Ulster Bank to develop, implement and support a number of pre-employment packages for Long term unemployed people living in disadvantaged areas of South and East Belfast. This award will be spent matching clients to pre-employment training in the areas of social care, cleansing and warehousing/retail. A total of 64 training places will be available and the 1st tranche of training is planned to commence in January 2015. The pre-employment training will allow for skills development and access to relevant in demand accredited qualifications that are applicable to the 3 sectors as mentioned above and will also be supported by expert employability support provided by GEMS NI. In addition to the training another vital step will be the arrangement of a guaranteed interview for participants with an employer in the sector they are training for.
